What is Stevia?
Steviol-glycosides are sweeteners extracted from the Stevia plant, a small green herb originating in Paraguay. Stevia is 300 times sweeter than ordinary sugar, so only a small amount is needed. Standard chocolate is bulked out with ordinary sugar—in Stevia chocolate, this is replaced by healthy fibres such as inulin. The added bonus of Stevia is that it does not have the laxative effects of normal no-sugar-added chocolate.
